Elaine Marie Kiger

Elaine Marie Kiger, 80, of Holland, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Elaine was born on December 6th, 1942 to Eugene and Isabell Biskupski in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Rogers in 1960, Elaine went on to study nursing, a field she was passionate about, at Mercy College. She maintained her LPN for 53 years before retiring in 2012. In 1962, she married the love of her life, Robert Kiger, from there they had three children, Kimberly, Robert, and Julie. Elaine was a stellar bowler, member of the Hollandettes baton and drums corps along with being a passionate outdoorswomen! Summer was her favorite season, BBQs, swimming, gardening and lounging in the sun. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, you would always catch her dressed up with silly string! Elaine loved to dance, you would always catch her on the dance floor-a fond memory of her kids was her coming home in the morning with a new record and dancing with them in the living room. Elaine was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mema. She loved to go shopping; you'd always catch her checking out the purses first! She never turned down getting dressed up and going out to eat with family and friends! She was a host for all gathering, she loved to get together and celebrate! Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Isabell, loving husband, Robert, her daughter, Kimberly and son-in-law Corey Griss. She is survived by her two children, Robert (Pam) Kiger, and Julie Griss; sister Susan (Jack) Daly, as well as her 5 grandchildren, Keely (Joshua) Annon, Rachael (Chris) Stewart, Robert Kiger Jr, Shelby (Jacob) Guerrero, Cody Griss and 5 great-grandchildren Abby, Isabell, Evelyn, Vincent & Dexter. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Thursday, March 30, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home on Friday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will be at Springfield Cemetery.
