Kori Clausen leads the Grief Recovery Method  an 8-week sessions. Please contact her for the upcoming dates.

This method offers a step-by-step process for unlocking and respecting the emotional experience of grief—addressing both immediate grief issues and those that may have held us captive for years.

It's important to know that coping is not living. We CAN do something to address the pain of our experiences, allowing us the freedom to move forward without it.

Learn How to Recover from Loss in 16 Hours

By Kori Clausen, grief recovery method specialist and Ottawa Hills resident

Grief and loss take many forms, and in the last five years we've experienced a great deal of loss and trauma as a country. The pandemic and the seismic shift it created in our day-to-day lives is still being felt. Depression rates soared, we lost the comfort of our daily routines and the ability to connect in person with our friends and family. In addition to those extraordinary circumstances, we all have loss in our daily lives, divorce, job change, moving and kids leaving for college are all significant life events that can cause us to grieve.

As a society, we are not great at talking about grief. We lack the proper language and awareness to help someone who is weighed down by a loss. Often people grieving can begin to feel isolated and alone and instead of moving forward, bury their pain and carry it with them everywhere they go. We are not well-equipped to discuss loss in this society. And some of us even struggle to define it. Simply put, grief is the conflicting feelings caused by the end of, or a change in, a familiar pattern of behavior.

What if we had a step-by-step guide to help navigate a loss in life? The Grief Recovery Method, is an action-based, powerful, directed approach to healing from life's deepest heartbreaks. Grief is an emotional response to loss, but often we try to ease our pain with intellectual tools. Given the proper emotional tools, we can achieve recovery.

I believe that everyone has a defining moment in their life. A single moment that has the ability to change the path they are on. For me it was the sudden death of my husband. During my personal journey and navigating my life as it is now, is what brought it would be. I discovered the power of the Grief Recovery Method as a participant. After completing the program I started to choose happiness over sadness, joy over darkness and letting go of the tight grip my pain had on me. I’m now a certified Grief Recovery Specialist teaching the method here in NW Ohio.

We are scheduling now for our January session, and I will be releasing more dates for 2025.

During an 8-week course, I will guide you through the program's step and discussions. Participants complete a series of readings and writing exercises to help map out and unlock stored emotions and pursue emotional healing. The sessions can be attended in group settings or individual 1:1 sessions in-person or via Zoom. I create a place for honest and safe conversations. Some people are hesitant about group settings, so I keep the groups small with the group supportive atmosphere. I would love to help you if you are struggling. At the end of the course, you will have the tools to address past and present loss and relationships. You can move forward with a new sense of hope and peace.
