Viriginia D. Reichart

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend due to natural causes. Virginia DeVilbiss Reichart was born in Toledo, OH on January 4th, 1934, to Charles and Grace Beck. She went to school at Ottawa Hills High School and graduated in 1952 and attended The College of William and Mary. She then married Thomas A. Devilbiss. Jinny raised 3 children and obtained her real estate license and sold real estate for 15+ years in the Toledo market. She married Darrell Reichart in 1979 who passed away in 1999. Jinny cared for Darrell after a stroke in 1992 for 7 years and loved him to the end. Darrell also had 3 children who became her 2nd family and she loved to help the kids in any way she could. Jinny spent a good part of her life as a member of the Clean Air Group at AA. She was the creator of the 5lb meatloaf for the annual Christmas party. She had her Sobriety for 48+ years and helped many others obtain sobriety. She lived and died with the Serenity Prayer and made it a part of everyone's life that she associated with. Jinny had a love for all animals with dogs as one of her favorites. Later in life when she did not have a dog, she became the care giver for many feral cats that lived in the woods near her apartment. She had a name for every one of the cats and would feed them daily even when the apartment manager sent out notices not to feed the cats. At one point we all laughed that mom would be evicted as she refused to stop feeding them and they loved to hang out at her back porch, especially Buffy. Jinny was the most generous person and she gave to every charity that sent a letter to her home. Jinny is survived by her three kids Betsy (Gary), Tad (Barb) and Greg (Anne); her 4 Grandchildren Erin Casho (Robbie), Michelle, Hannah and Emilie; and 6 nephews and 1-Very special niece Sherry. She is preceded in death by Thomas A. DeVilbiss, Darrell Reichart, Barbara Weber and Grace Renner. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 1:00pm at Secor Metro park lodge located at 10001 Central Ave., Berkey, OH 43504. She will be buried at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at a later date. Any donations are to be sent to the Paws and Whiskers cat shelter at 32 Hillwyck Dr., Toledo, OH 43615.
