Margaret Jean Wheeler

Margaret "Peggy" Schoen Wheeler, of Sylvania, Ohio left us to celebrate Valentine's Day with her husband. She passed away at her home surrounded by family, friends and caregivers. Peggy was born in Toledo, Ohio, and attended Ursula Academy and Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio. While in school she met her husband of 52 years, Robert "Bob" Wheeler while he was attending John Carroll University. They were married on May 24, 1952 and were blessed with a very loving and long life together until Bob's death in 2004. Ten children, thirty-six grandchildren and one great-grandchild were the fruits of their love and devotion to each other. Peggy was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sylvania, Ohio. Bob and Linda, Garrett, Audra, Kara, Elyse and Christa Wheeler Duke and Martha, Duke, Christy and Maria Wheeler Peggy and Jim, Preston, Cory and MaKenzie Holb and Emily, and Peyton Pearson Jack and Lisa, Patrick, Tyler, Nolan and Kaitlin Wheeler Debbie and Kevin, Kevin Jr., and Molly, James and Kelly O'Connell Pat and Beth, Liz Ann, Jack, Sam and Bridget Wheeler Kyle and Steve, Benjamin and Lindsay, and Joshua Liggett Jim and Lisa, Lauren, Jake, Megan and Nick Wheeler Kim, Matthew and Sam Teifke Tom and Tracy, Brooke, Evan, Madison and Molly Wheeler Peggy was predeceased by her brothers Jack, Dick and Jim Schoen and her sisters, Mary Schoen Uhl, Joanne Schoen Kurt and Pat Schoen Smith and granddaughter Paige Wheeler and grandson-in-law, Drew Pearson. Peggy was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend who could always be counted on to help in any way when a need arose. She was known for her great sense of humor, her enthusiasm and her fun-loving spirit. Her joy in life was helping others. Peggy was active at St. Ursula Academy, St. John's High School, Mobile Meals, Mary's Adult Care, Heartbeat, Foundation for Life, and Christ Child. Friends and family who would like to share memories and stories are welcome to come to an open house at Peg's home on Monday, Feb. 15 from 2:00 to 7:00. The Wheeler family also invites relatives and friends to celebrate Peg's life with a Memorial Mass, February 16, 2010, at 11a.m., at Corpus Christi Church, Toledo, Ohio. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: St. Ursula Academy or Parkinson's Foundation of NW Ohio. The Wheeler family wishes to express our very deepest appreciation to the caring and dedicated nurses, Drs. John Valade, Lawrence Elmer, Frank Horton and the many supportive friends and family. May God's blessing be upon you. We love you Mom, Grandma, Aunt Peg and friend. We thank God that you have greatly enriched our lives and we will miss you very much.
