June Phyllis Huffman

June Cannon Huffman, 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 15, 2012 at her home. June was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Delia Cannon. She was married to Mearl T. Huffman. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, she attended the University of Toledo on scholarship. June and her family, members of Toledo Tennis Club, were avid table tennis enthusiasts, winning over one hundred two trophies and awards; after her father passed away in 1949, June and her mother continued the family business, Crimson Coach Tobacco Company, until 1962. She then joined her husband in running M. Huffman Sales Company until their retirement. June was an avid golfer and bridge player, spending half the year at their home in Naples, Florida. She was a member of Gesu Parish, and a former member of Sylvania Country Club and Brandywine Country Club. June’s generosity and love were felt by her whole family. She had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren, who were the pride of her life. June lived life to the fullest and always faced her challenges with grace, dignity, and good humor. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Barbara Zuber. She is survived by daughters Lynda Perlman, and Kathy (James) Sattler; grandchildren Kristyn (Brad) Kaplan of Chicago, Illinois, Arika (Michael) Sinnott of Williamston, Michigan, Scott and Jonathan Perlman of Chicago, Illinois, Matthew (Melissa) Sattler of Lakewood, Ohio, Adam and Maemee Sattler; and six great grandchildren. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home; 1770 S Reynolds Rd on Wednesday July 18, 2012 from 4-8 pm where the rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Thursday July 19, 2012 at 9:15 am followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 am at Gesu Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Kathy Riley, her loving care-giver and friend for the last twelve years, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Carol Jones, Nancy Pickens, and Courtney Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
