Geraldine Ella Cryan

Geraldine (Gerri) Rossler – Cryan Geraldine “Gerri” Cryan passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Parkcliffe Alzheimer’s Community, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 9, 1921 to Jacob and Cloetta (Durliat) Rossler. She was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1939. On October 27, 1945, she was married to Robert (Bob) Cryan at Immaculate Conception Church. Together they raised six children and were very active in the church. Gerri was employed by the former Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Walbridge Cleaners, and the Catholic Charities of the Toledo Diocese, where she was the switchboard operator, a position she enjoyed, retiring at the age of 73. In retirement she enjoyed sewing and her many trips to Las Vegas and Maine; lunches and vacations with her retired friends, and dancing at the Margaret Hunt Senior Center and the DC Ranch. Sunday family dinners at her home were the highlight of the week. Spending special grandma days with all of her grandchildren were cherished times by grandma and grandchildren alike. Gerri is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Jean Burnard and brothers Donald and Richard Rossler. She is survived by her daughters Kathy (Doug) Biggie and Mary Ann (Rick) Weber and sons, Mike (Laury), Terry, Tom (Ralph) and Larry (Kim). 13 grandchildren; Brian (Tracy), Stacy (Ken), Kristen (Jeff), Kurt (Jenn), Jennifer (Bill), Kim (Justin), Kendra, Jim (Senait), Rachel, Robert, Sara, Joe and Matt; 15 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Mary Rossler. Friends may call at the James Coyle and Sons Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the mortuary on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Gesu Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. James Cryan as Celebrant. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests memorial tributes be made to the Parkcliffe Alzheimer’s Community or Odyssey Hospice. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Parkcliffe Alzheimer’s Community and Odyssey Hospice for the love, care and compassion that you gave to our mom and our entire family. Your kindness and caring will never be forgotten.
