Mary J. Penrod Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary J. Penrod "Jody", age 91, of Toledo, passed away July 29, 2022. Mary was born April 21, 1931 and was the daughter of John and Mary (Stayton) Hugenberg. She was preceded in death by her husband David D. Penrod in 2013. Surviving are her three children Richard (Jackie) Penrod, Cathleen Marchal, and James Penrod in addition to eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great- great grandchildren. Among many accomplishments were costume design while located in Grand Island, New York for both The King and I and The Wizard of Oz. After moving to Berea, Ohio she belonged to many clubs and organizations serving as an officer for several. She was elected to The Berea City Council in 1974. After relocating to Toledo, Ohio in 1976, she served as a manager for Pier 1 Imports for 24 years retiring at the age of 69 to spend more time with family. A small private service will be held in the mausoleum chapel at Resurrection Cemetery on Friday, August 5th at 2:00 p.m. where she will be buried next to David.
