Mahlon C. Glenn

Mahlon C. Glenn, 89, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2026, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 22nd, 1936, Mahlon was one of eight children born to Doris and Wayne Glenn. He retired from Food Town in 1992 after serving as a diesel mechanic for 20 years. Prior, Mahlon worked as a mechanic's assistant at Ryder Truck Rental for 10 years, sold insurance for National Life and Accident Insurance for 4 years, and was a security guard at LOF for several years. As a teenager, Mahlon worked in a grocery store, as a golf course caddy, and managed a paper route. He was an active member of Maumee United Methodist Church where he participated in the PALS Men's Group. Mahlon was passionate about helping others and loved to travel the United States in his motor coach with the NOMAD RV Association. He was also a member of the Free Mason's, Teamsters, the Compass Club, and enjoyed playing cards and dancing. Mahlon never met a stranger and was loved by all he met. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandpa, and great grandpa. Mahlon is survived by his wife Lela Glenn (Geiser), siblings: LouAnn McConnel (Ben), Evelyn Bright (Fred), children: Bryan Glenn (Pat), Kevin Glenn (Esther), Shelly Hyter (Wess), Doug Glenn (Melanie), and Laura Walton (Keith), his 11 grandchildren: Joshua, Noah (Samantha), Tyler, Corey, Crystal, Colleen (Jorge), Eric, Andrew, Shawn, Shannon, and Kyle, and 4 great-grandchildren: Leland, Tucker Conner, and Lily. Mahlon is preceded in death by his siblings Larry Glenn (Della), Leland Glenn (Joan), Fern Hill (Bud), Duane Glenn (Sally), and Donald Glenn (Rose). Mahlon will be remembered as a loving family man and jokester, known for his kindness, outgoing personality, and infectious laugh. Friends and family are invited to the visitation at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Sunday, February 8th from 2 to 6 p.m., with a Masonic service at 5:00. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and the funeral at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 9th at Coyle Funeral Home. Burial will be at Springfield Township Cemetery.
