Linda Ruggiero Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Lee (Veigel) Ruggiero, age 82, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, June 9, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 30, 1939 to Clarence and Evelyn (Gumb) Veigel. She was one of five girls raised in Toledo, Ohio and was a proud member of the "Old Darby" neighborhood. Linda graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957. Linda's professional career included many years of secretarial service, retiring from BASF Corporation in 2004. Linda loved going on weekend "getaway" trips and had an adventurous spirit. She especially loved to visit the serenity of Side Cut Metropark. She was an avid reader and a fan of "true life" detective crime novels and TV dramas. She also enjoyed watching her beloved Detroit Tigers and cheering on her favorite player, Curtis Granderson. Linda loved her family dearly and shared a close bond with her sisters. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. She is survived by her loving daughters, Gina (Bob) Young, Anna (John) Morin, Marisa (Jason) Hartbarger, and grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Alyssa, Alexa, and Jory and her sisters, Judith Roberts and Sharon Urzykowski. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Carol Mueller and Marilyn McAlear. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Toledo, from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael A. Geiger, officiating. A private interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any tributes be made to Ebeid Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice in honor of Linda. Coyle Funeral Home is serving the family.
