Laura Genette Collum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Laura Genette Collum, age 99, of Toledo, passed away on March 2, 2022 at Elizabeth Scott Community where she resided. She was born to George and Georgia (Harrison) Bly in West Unity, OH. Laura married the love of her life, Joseph Collum, while he was on leave from the military, on July 25, 1945 and together they raised two children. She attended business college and then spent her career working for various companies before she worked at the corporate offices for White Tower Restaurant, until the time of her retirement. In their later years, Laura and Joe enjoyed almost three decades traveling the country together in their RV with their dog. On their 25th anniversary, they went to Europe and purchased a motorcycle and used it to travel throughout England and Wales. They also loved square dancing and getting together with friends. Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe; her parents; brothers, Earl (Dorothy), Ed (Ruth) and Paul (Priscilla Bardwell) Bly. She is survived by son, James (Linda) Collum; daughter, Connie (Ken) Billmaier; as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Monday, March 14th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
