John Grajczyk

John Grajczyk, age 74, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully in Northwest Ohio Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, just days before his 75th birthday. John lived a full and meaningful life defined by dedication to his family, his career, and the things he loved most. A proud member of the Macomber High School Class of 1969, John's roots began at St. Anthony Parish (Toledo, Ohio), where he built lifelong relationships and carried those traditions with him throughout his life. John pursued higher education while working full-time. He earned multiple degrees - an associate's degree from Owens Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a Master's degree from the University of Findlay. He was deeply proud of these accomplishments and often credited his wife, Susan, for her unwavering support in helping raise their two daughters during those years and beyond. In his final days, John shared that he had lived a life that many only dream of - one filled with experiences and accomplishments he never imagined possible. He enjoyed two long and successful careers, spending 24 years at Champion Spark Plug, where he contributed significantly to the field, including work tied to patents. He then spent 24 years with Toledo Machining (Chrysler) in Perrysburg, where he was known not only for his expertise, but also for his leadership and genuine care for the people he worked with. Following his retirement, John served as an adjunct professor at Owens Community College, teaching math from basic levels through calculus - a role he was incredibly proud of and found deeply fulfilling. Outside of work, John fully embraced life's simple and meaningful moments. Whether it be spending time on the deck listening to the Toledo Mud Hens or playing games with his wife and many friends. He cherished time spent with his Stock Club, where he enjoyed discussing markets, investments, and ideas with close friends. He also looked forward to regular mornings with his breakfast crew, sharing stories, laughter, and lifelong friendships. John had a deep appreciation for tradition and hands-on hobbies. He took pride in making homemade kielbasa, crafting his own wine, and baking Polish coffee cakes, always sharing them with others. He was an avid gardener, eagerly anticipating seed catalogs each January and carefully planning each season's garden. He also loved feeding the birds and spending time outdoors. He was an active golfer, participating in multiple leagues and earning championships along the way, and he enjoyed fishing-especially for perch and walleye. Despite his many accomplishments, John's greatest joy was his family. He never missed his children's activities, especially volleyball matches and track meets, and was always present, supportive, and proud. John met the love of his life, Susan (McNutt) Grajczyk, during a memorable ski trip to Boyne Mountain. What began as a fun weekend among friends turned into a lifelong love story. John and Susan were married in 1975 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a beautiful celebration planned by their children. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, and friend - someone who worked hard, loved deeply, and built a life centered around family, friends and tradition. John is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (McNutt) Grajczyk; his children, Katie (Neil) Finkbeiner and Angie (John) Parisho; and his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Elizabeth, who brought him immense pride and joy and his Granddogs - RBI and Izzy. He is also survived by his siblings: Nancy (Dan) Lewandowski, Alan (Chris) Grajczyk, Duane (Kim) Grajczyk, David Grajczyk, and Rob (Sharon Fear) Grajczyk, along with many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Grajczyk. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the care teams at the University of Michigan Oncology Department, John's Angels and Northwest Ohio Hospice for their compassion and support. John's legacy is one of hard work, tradition, friendship, and unwavering love for his family - a life well lived and deeply cherished. A Visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S.
