Donna Patricia Goebel-Paupard passed away on March 18, 2022. Pat was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 26, 1927 to Donald and Katherine (Kelly) Feak. She attended Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Perpetual Help schools. She graduated from St. Ursula Academy. As a teenager, Pat was active in sports and enjoyed working at the Walbridge Park Amphitheatre in the chorus of the Operettas, The Lion Store and her father's restaurant, the Douglas Grill. She attended Barry College in Miami, Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sienna Heights College in Adrian, Michigan. She later received her Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Detroit University. In 1948, she married James Goebel, a Navy Ensign Navigator and was blessed with six children. Pat enjoyed a career in corrections for almost 30 years. She was the first female probation officer for Lucas County Common Pleas Court. She also co-authored several articles for the Blade and started a very successful special probation unit for fifth time offenders with Judge George Kiroff. She met John F. Kennedy in 1959 while working at the Lucas County Courthouse. She moved to Florida and worked for 14 years for the Florida Probation and Parole Department, becoming the first female Deputy Administrator for the 19th Circuit Court. Pat met Bill Paupard, an ex-Marine from the Korean War. They married in 1980 and traveled the United States in an RV for a year, enjoying state parks, museums and especially Alaska. Not one to sit idle in retirement, Pat worked part time in the Bakery at Publix, played bridge, enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed time with her nieces and nephews, the McHugh's, Feak's and Dyer's. She was a 20 year member of the Florida State Sheriff's Department, the Fort Lauderdale and Hobe Sound VFW Auxiliaries and the Ridgeway Club also in Hobe Sound. She also enjoyed swimming and fishing in the Florida Keys. Pat was predeceased by her beloved father and mother, her former husbands, Jim Goebel, Jim Jones and Bill Paupard. Her siblings, Donald P. (Bud) Feak, Kathleen (Connie) McHugh and Jeanne Fahey and her best friend Tina Satterthwaite Lawson. She was also predeceased by her two oldest sons, Tim Goebel and Tom Goebel. She is survived by her children, Laura McClure, Scott Goebel, Mark (Annie) Goebel and Chris (Melissa) Goebel. Also surviving are her step children Mark and Matthew Paupard, grandchildren Kelly Solano, Tim, Julie, Eric, Jessie, Tiffany, Nick and Nicole Goebel, Carrie Hammer and Nino and Eddie McClure and many great grandchildren. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Thursday, March 24 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25. Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery.
