    Ann D Cothern

    March 20, 1934 - December 22, 2021

Ann Dillon Cothern, 87, previously of Holland, OH, devoted wife and mother, passed away on December 22, 2021, in Arizona, where she has lived for the past 5 years. She was born in 1934, the second of six children to William and Mary Dillon and graduated from St.Ursula Academy in 1952. Our mother's greatest achievement was her family. She was a wonderful mother who cared deeply for her children. She was a strong woman of faith and she especially found comfort with prayers to St. Jude. Our mother was completely devoted to our father, who passed away in 2012. She was a voracious reader, often finishing several books a week. She had a passion for tennis, never missing the grand slams on TV and was quite a player in her day. She was loyal and cared deeply for her lifelong friends, and was especially thankful for the "unexpected blessing" of her new special Arizona friends and bunco gals. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick, her infant son Christopher, sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and Kathleen Connolly and her granddaughter Stephanie Wade. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Leslie Wade of Willoughby, OH and Betsy Booth of Sylvania, OH, son, Ted Cothern along with her much loved daughter- in-law Kristin Cothern of Phoenix AZ. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, and she leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Matt and Nicholas Wade, Christie (Rich) Zalanka, Jake and Dillon Booth, and Quinn and Riley Cothern, as well as her 2 great granddaughters, Ellie Zalanka and Kaelynn Wade. Ann is also survived by her loving brothers, Dr. Thomas Dillon (Dee), Brian Dillon (Kathie)and Steve (Annie) Dillon. As well as many very loved nieces and nephews. Friday, January 7th, 2022, Friends and family will be received for visitation at 10:00 a.m. in the Narthex of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00.a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Coyle Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Ann had a life well lived. To make a donation in her memory, the family asks you to consider St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN or to The Breast Cancer Research foundation at give.bcrf.org Please view and sign the "on-line" guest registry at CoyleFuneralHome.com
