Alfred George Dennis

Alfred George Dennis “Al” the 5th of 7 children passed away peacefully Tuesday January 30, 2018 in his home. He was born to Frederick Raymond “Fred” Dennis of Toledo and Elizabeth (Lydia) Herking of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born and raised on farm 3 miles west of Maumee, Ohio. After graduating from Holland/Springfield High School in 1947 he worked for Toledo Edison in the overhead lines department all his productive years except for the four years in the USAF. Al married Beverly J. Bond May 12th, 1951 in the chapel at Keesler Air Force Base where they lived 2 yrs. in Mississippi and two years in Japan while in the service. Al and Bev were seldom apart. They had a variety of interests during their long marriage including bowling, western round dancing, sailing a sloop on Lake Erie and visited all 50 states. After retiring in 1990 they snow birded for 27 years between Ohio and Arizona spending almost equal time in each state. Surviving are: wife Beverly, son Craig, daughter Dawn (Scott), grandchildren; Paul, Todd (Jennifer), Heather (Aaron), Craig Jr., Kayla, Jenna, and Kirsten; Great Grandchildren; Olivia, Eli, Maggie, and Adler; Sisters Loretta and Dorothy. Friends may visit at Coyle Funeral Home on Friday February 2, 2018 from 2 until the time of the service at 7:30 pm. Internment will be private.
