Susan Marie Wistinghausen

Susan Marie Wistinghausen (formerly Schneider), 68 years, has left this world on June 16, 2023, to be seated at the Banquet of Heaven. As a child raised on a farm in Bellevue, Ohio, the best times were always around the kitchen table. At mealtimes, everyone in the family had their specific seat including Arnold and Lucille Schneider (pre-deceased parents), and siblings Bernard Schneider (formerly of Florida and recently StoryPoint in Waterville), Sister Berneta Schneider (Elizabeth), Sister Valerie Schneider (Donna), and Cathy Schneider (all from Toledo). If it wasn't food being served at the table, it was a fun game of Euchre. Arnold mentored all his children in the nuances of the game. His proudest moments were when he was beaten in a game by one of his own children! While attending Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Sue met Al, the love of her life, her confidant, her best friend, while on a blind date. Enjoying much in common, especially good food, they married 18 months later. Their 46 years together flew by with dedication to their careers, Habitat for Humanity builds, trips to Hawaii, Grand Cayman and Australia and loving their stray kitten Furball. During her spare time, while working in the sign industry or the insurance business, Sue loved to cook and bake. Family gatherings and many holidays were hosted in Sue and Al's home. This personal experience led her to achieve the career of her dreams-Catering Manager for Michael's Gourmet Catering, Inc. For 21 years Sue treasured making brides' dreams come true! Services for Sue will be held on Friday, June 23 at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by Mass at the Table of the Lord at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon will be the Holy Family Center. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Avenue, Toledo. Arrangements are entrusted to Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo.
