Robert Ray Lindsey

Robert R. Lindsey Jr. LINDSEY, Jr., Robert (Bob) R., 71, of Toledo, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on July 19, 1945, in Toledo, to Robert R. and Doris J. (Eddington) Lindsey, he was the oldest of six remarkable children. Bob was a graduate of Woodward High School and then served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Dana Corporation for 16 years and then went to work for The Ohio Department of Transportation, retiring after 20 years of service. Bob had a deep love for Fort Myers, Florida, and in 2015 he made it his permanent home. Bob’s passion for Fort Myers was only surpassed by his love and commitment to his wife, Sandy. Blessed to find love again later in life, Bob and Sandy spent six wonderful years together, having fun at Times Square, enjoying amazing vacations, and watching many, many beautiful sunsets in each other’s arms on Fort Myers Beach. Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Sandra (Russell) Lindsey; daughter, Karen (William) Poore; sons, Robert Lindsey III (Andrea Taliga), Mark (Sheri) Lindsey and Michael (Jennifer) Lindsey; and stepdaughter Heather (Rick) Oder; 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Lindsey, Jordan, Cameron, Ryan, Jackson, Max and Maggie, Catherine and Emma; siblings, Melva Permar, Barbara (Pete) Atherine, David (Kathy) Lindsey, Jeannie Lindsey, Donald Lindsey, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Susan (Kelsey) Lindsey, and brother-in-law, Richard Permar. Bob would also like to recognize his wonderful friends, Jack Sizemore, Marty Walkowski, Ed Mueller, Leo Deiger and Gary Marck, as well as the many others he has met in his life. Friends will be received at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Monday, January 30, 2017, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial services will begin in the mortuary Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests tributes to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908, or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
