Leocadio Morales

Leocadio Morales, 63, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away on October 1st, 2020, with his loving wife by his side. He was born to parents Juan and Soledad Morales, on February 28th, 1957 in Brownsville, Texas. In his early adult life Leo moved from Texas to Ohio and worked agriculture for several years. He then became an Ironworker and joined the brotherhood of Local 55. He worked constructing steel buildings and bridges, sometimes several stories high for over 20 years. He married Guadalupe, the love of his life, who survives him. Leo is also survived by his children Andrea, Elizabeth and partner Chad, Bobby and wife Audri. His step children Sylvia and husband Dale, Cynthia and husband Sam, Domingo Jr. and wife Blanca. As well as grandchildren Worthy, Lola, Chad Jr., Chance, Adeline, Hope, Ashley, Joel, Amanda, Gio, Joshua and Jayden. Leo was predeceased by parents Juan and Soledad Morales, sister Maria A. Morales and brother Andres Morales. He leaves behind sisters Maria I. Morales, Maria De Rosario Torres, and brother Juan Morales. Leo was known for his quick wit, his ability to make anyone and everyone laugh, his countless jokes, laugh and smile. His love and dedication for his family will be forever missed. We remember him as a hard worker and someone who loved staying busy. He spent his free time hanging out with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching crime TV shows and action packed movies. Leo was always there to help friends and family with fixing their cars or household projects. Leo helped anyone who asked him anyway he could. A special THANK YOU to the Doctors, Nurses and people at University of Michigan Hospital for their loving care and support during his leukemia journey, bone marrow transplant and final days. Also the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the countless prayers, gifts and well wishes over the last two years from family, friends and total strangers. A thank you to Coyle Funeral Home and Fort Meigs Cemetery for being accommodating and understanding during this difficult time. Visitation will be open to the public Monday, October 5th, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43614. Coyle Funeral Home will adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Ohio. Proper social distancing must be practiced and all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times. Interment private to family only. Leo will be laid to rest at Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg
