Leah Belle Coller

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leah “Grams” who was 91 years old. Leah was born April 1, 1924 in Chesterfield Township Fulton County, Ohio to Vern G. and Florence I. (Partridge) Pennington. She always got a kick out of being born on April Fool’s Day. Having two older sisters, she fooled her father by being another girl. She graduated from Chesterfield Township School. Leah worked at the Lamson’s Department Store and at St. Vincent Hospital, in the billing department. She volunteered at the Kidney Foundation of N.W. Ohio for many years and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Leah had a heart of gold and loved to hug everyone she met. Her favorite saying was “whatever.” She loved sweets, paper, bells and elephants. Her greatest joy was her family, who called her “Grams.” She would proudly say “Have you met my family?” to anyone around her. She cherished her special time with great-grandchildren Emily, Andrew and Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Beulah Hinkle and Cliva Smith; great-grandchildren, Bradey and Chelsie Weaver and nephews, Robert and Vernon Hinkle. She is survived by her daughter, Lenora (Kenneth) Geiger-Fairbanks; grandchildren, Christine (Gary) Nickoli, Andrea (Neil) Schuller, Bill (Michaela) Geiger, Ken Fairbanks, Jr., Cynthia Weaver, Steve Fairbanks, Mike (Joanna) Fairbanks, Randy (Laura) Fairbanks and Jennifer Fairbanks; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Frederick (Susanne) Hinkle, as well as, numerous extended family. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Wednesday, September 2nd from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, in the mortuary, at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jerry Jones. Interment Lyons Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the care providers at Ashanti Hospice and to the staff at Sunset Village.
