Ann Gertrude Seth

Ann Gertrude Steckbeck Seth ('Cookie' to her family), age 82, of Maumee, passed away February 21, 2025 in Monclova, Ohio. Ann was born March 4, 1942 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Satish Kumar Seth, her parents, Mary (Ondrejicka) Steckbeck Soliday and Phillip Steckbeck, stepfather Earl Soliday, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends. Ann is survived by her children, Vijay Seth and Anita (Eric) Seth DeVaul; grandchildren Seth (Macie Ruiz) Toska, Dylan Toska, and Lilyann Toska; sisters Agnes (Bill) Dohner and Mary (Phillip) McClain; a niece, five nephews, multiple great nieces/nephews and extended family. Ann worked as a Registered Nurse in her early adult years. Her truest joy, though, was being a devoted wife, mother, volunteer, and friend. Managing Satish's work, caring for Satish through his journey with Alzheimer's, caring for Vijay, Anita and her grandchildren, and being an active and treasured member of the community were Ann's passions. From being an officer in Vijay's Boy Scout Troop to being involved with numerous organizations for individuals with developmental disabilities, Ann always gave her time and talents generously to anyone that needed an advocate or a helping hand. She served on numerous parent committees and was an officer on the Board for the ARC of Lucas County. She chaired the ARC of Lucas County Awards Banquet Committee for over 20 years, and she was a Special Olympics, scouting, church, and United Way volunteer. Ann was honored with numerous awards over the years, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 presented by Camp Courageous and the ARC of Northwest Ohio for her years of volunteer service to the developmentally disabled community. Ann loved to spoil all 'her kids', providing treats and gifts to all of Vijay and Anita's friends and coworkers whenever she could. Ann also loved to treat her friends and family by 'importing' Pennsylvania Dutch goodies from her hometown of Lebanon. She was known for her baking, contributing homemade baklava to church and community events, and delivering trays of holiday baked goods to her loved ones every Christmas. She was also an avid collector of coins and entertainment memorabilia, and she always had a great story to tell any captive audience. Her generosity, sassy character, and unconditional love will be greatly missed. Ann's family would like to thank everyone associated with Fresenius Kidney Care, The Lakes of Monclova, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all the love and care they showed to all of us over the last few months of Ann's life journey. We'd also like to express our sincere appreciation to all of Ann's healthcare providers over the years, particularly Dr. Heather Klepacz. Dr. Klepacz's skill and expertise gave us an extra ten years with Ann, for which we are eternally grateful. Anyone that knew Ann knows that she had a long and complicated health history, and we appreciate all the effort and care from all the healthcare professionals that helped Ann live her extraordinary life. A visitation celebrating Ann's life will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 South Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43614, with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m. Guests will be received beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 (Ann's 83rd birthday) at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Boulevard, Toledo, Ohio 43614, with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
