Jennifer Manzella

Jennifer Lynne Manzella, age 50, died Sept 23, 2021, died peacefully at home in her Toledo residence. She was born August 11, 1971 to Lawrence and Marcia Massa. Jennifer was an only child and often preferred solitude but had many close friends and relatives whose memories stayed with her and were considered sacred even till her last moments. Married on September 30, 1995, Jennifer's husband Peter Mathew Manzella were together 25 years with only one week shy of 26 years. Jennifer's formal education was with McAuley and St.Ursula Catholic Schools, then culminated in a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University at the University of Toledo which she was very proud of. Jennifer's informal studies were very extensive and varied including mineralogy, gemology and several other related natural-studies. Although not formally accredited or certified for any of these, her knowledge was second to few within these fields. Jennifer had several jobs she fondly remembers with pride but was a homemaker for many of her years which allowed her to pursue her studies and interests. Jennifer lived in and around and passed away all within the same general area of south Toledo her entire life and was very passionate about, and proud of that fact. Many injured wild animals were successfully cared for and rehabilitated whenever possible by Jennifer's own hand. Birds held a very special place in her heart, so if there's anyone who'd like to consider a charitable organization donation, anything to benefit the health and well-being of animals in any capacity would be very appropriate and appreciated. Better still if you see an animal suffering, do something to help directly. That's definitely one thing Jennifer was truly fearless about and could not ignore. Seeing the helpless taken advantage of or abused cannot be tolerated. Surviving family includes her spouse, Peter M. Manzella, her parents, Lawrence and Marcia Massa; "siblings"-none by the "usual way" but Jennifer's cousins were thought of as such and include, Robert Louviaux, Elizabeth Louviaux, Aimee Louviaux Stanton and Nichole Louviaux. Other surviving family members very important to Jennifer are her Aunt Nathalie Louviaux, and Uncle Henry Thibodeau. Special mention must be made because of the absolute reverence always held in Jennifer's heart among the surviving, her dearest friend, Jennifer Wojtkowiak, and Jennifer Deibler Martin. Predeceased by a menagerie of creatures great and small that are all too numerous to even begin to number that were all a testament to the size of Jennifer's heart and boundless compassion. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 30th from 4 pm-7 pm at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., with a Scripture service at 6:30. The funeral will begin in the mortuary at 9:30, followed by Mass on Friday October 1st at 10 am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2255 Central Grove in Toledo. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Please note that this date would also have marked the 26th wedding anniversary of Jennifer and Peter's marriage as well. Lastly is an unaccredited written piece Jennifer found which was special to us: "Everything that was broken has Forgotten its brokenness. I live Now in a sky-house, through every window the sun. Also your presence. Our touching, our stories. Earthly and holy both. How can this be, but It is. Everyday has something in it whose name is Forever."
