- Graduated from the University of Toledo in 1999 with a B. S. in Liberal Arts
- Formerly employed as a Manager by the Tireman Auto Service Centers from 1999-2005
- Graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2006
- Rejoined the Coyle Funeral Home in 2006, working as a Funeral Director Apprentice
- He is Professionally Licensed in Ohio as a Funeral Director and Embalmer
- Charter member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post #642, for 26 years
- In his spare time, Phil enjoys spending time with his family, music, movies and traveling
- Phil resides in South Toledo with his wife and two children
