In 1888, James Coyle opened his first funeral home near downtown Toledo. A civic-minded leader and local activist, Coyle wanted to help his neighbors and created a business to reach out to families in mourning.

Over a span of four generations, the Coyle Funeral Home expanded as it was passed to his son, William, and grandsons, William and James. Today, his great-grandson's, William and Joseph, continue the family tradition with the knowledge, integrity and comfort families have come to rely on through very difficult times. Megan Coyle Stamos is now a 5th generation Coyle family member.
