History- 120 Years and going strong

For more than a century, Coyle Funeral Home has been serving families throughout Northwest Ohio. Carrying a long family tradition, Coyle has become synonymous with caring, compassionate and personal service and commitment to genuine, quality care. A full-service funeral home, Coyle is a member of the exclusive “Trust 100” network of family-owned funeral homes.

In 1888, James Coyle opened his first funeral home near downtown Toledo. A civic-minded leader and local activist, Coyle wanted to help his neighbors and created a business to reach out to families in mourning.

Over a span of five generations, the Coyle Funeral Home expanded as it was passed to his son, William, and grandsons, William and James and now Megan, a fifth generation Coyle, is participating in the business.. Today, his great-grandson's, William and Joseph, as well as his great-great-granddaughter Megan, continue the family tradition with the knowledge, integrity and comfort families have come to rely on through very difficult times.

“When my great grandmother passed away, she was cared for by James Coyle, there was only one funeral home I would have care for my mother when she moved on from this life…Joe Coyle showed the same level of care and compassion as his great grandfather did so long ago…”
